What is a piano recital?
A piano recital is a formal and sometimes informal performance opportunity for a student's family and friends. A recital gives students a goal to work toward and to put forth their best performance. There are usually two recitals per year, and they are held at the school The Piano Recital is also the time when student achievement awards are given for level accomplishment. The recital is an integral part of learning public performance. While students are not required to participate in the recital, all students are highly encouraged to participate.
Are there any other fees?
Some students may choose to compete in piano competitions. Competition fees vary from event to event and are available to students who wish to participate.
Must I have a piano?
All students must have a piano to practice on daily. Piano students need to practice on average 30 minutes a day (at least 5 days a week). The need for practice increases as a student progresses from beginner to intermediate to advanced. Training our hands to do what our mind is telling them to do takes consistent practice.
Do I as a parent have to stay during my child's piano class?
It is a policy of the Great Performers School of Piano and Music that parents must sign in and sign out their child. It is preferred that parents stay in the waiting room at the school during their child's lessons.
